DFO SFD Anantnag launches Plant Distribution Drive

ANANTNAG, MARCH 06: The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Social Forestry Division (SFD) Anantnag, Gazala Abdullah today launched a plant distribution initiative from the Momandanji Nursery in Arwani, Anantnag here.

This initiative, aimed at bolstering environmental sustainability, saw the distribution of 35,000 popular saplings among an equal number of beneficiaries.

DFO highlighted the pivotal role of mass plantation drives in nurturing a greener and healthier environment. She emphasized the department’s steadfast commitment to actively support and facilitate endeavors aimed at augmenting the green cover in the region.

She encouraged the general public to engage actively in tree plantation drives, stressing the collective responsibility in nurturing and conserving the environment for future generations. She assured the public of the department’s unwavering readiness to provide all necessary assistance and resources to facilitate the planting of more trees across the region.

Furthermore, she announced the continuation of the drive in the coming days.

The DFO was accompanied by Range Officers, Anantnag, Kokernag and Qazigund Ranges.
