Deputy Commissioner discusses Beautification plan for Udhampur Town

UDHAMPUR, September 13: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, today chaired a meeting in the Mini Conference Hall  of the DC Office Complex to discuss the beautification plan for Udhampur Town.

The meeting was attended by key officials from stakeholder departments and representatives of GREF.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, along with other officers and GREF representatives attended the meeting.

During the meeting, GREF received directives to ensure a zero-litter and zero-garbage policy in the drains, emphasizing the need to keep them free from blockages caused by waste. The GREF was instructed to increase manpower for thorough drain cleaning on a mission mode basis, ensuring daily maintenance of all drains under their jurisdiction.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the importance of preventing issues like water-logging, clogged drains, and waste overflow onto the roads. GREF was directed to maintain regular garbage collection schedules to prevent the accumulation of filth. Furthermore, they were tasked with filling potholes and installing necessary signboards for the town’s enhancement.
