Approves Scale of Finance for crops for 2023-2024

SHOPIAN, January 04: A meeting of District Level Technical Committee (DLTC) was today held under the chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya to finalize the Scale of Finance for the year 2023-24 for Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Fisheries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments at Mini Secretariat, here.

The participants deliberated on various factors like input prices and market prices of commodities for assessing the Scale of Finance for providing short term loans to the farmers in the shape of Working Capital for various field crops.

Information was shared with the attendees regarding the prices of various sub-items such as fodder, fertilizer, pesticides, labour value addition and manure etc for growing the crops and maintenance of dairy animals.

It was informed that the rates finalised by the Committee will be forwarded to the State Level Technical Committee.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that agriculture and allied sectors are important economic activities, on which sustenance of majority is linked to and that the credit facility to the farmers will be instrumental in boosting the agro-economic activities.

DDC instructed the banks to be proactive in lending loans to farmers and give special focus to this priority sector.

The meeting was attended by General Manager ACC Bank, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Manager SBI, Manager EDB, DDM NABARD and representatives of Agriculture, Horticulture and other concerned.
