DDC Shopian chair DLRC, DCC meeting; reviews performance of Banks

SHOPIAN, June 22: The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today chaired the District Consultative Committee (DCC) cum District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting at Mini Secretariat, Shopian.

J&K Bank has disbursed 89 percent of total credit amounting to Rs 1203.74 crore in the district for the financial year 2022-23, intimated District Lead Bank, Manager Farooq Ahmad.

Giving a complete break-up of the credit disbursed by various banks operating in the district, LDM said that all the banks operating in the district have extended a credit disbursement of 1203.74 crores against the yearly target of Rs.2052.86 crore, registering an achievement of 63 percent of the annual credit plan 2022-23 for quarter ending March 2023.

The deposits of the district decreased from Rs. 1571.76 crores as on march 31, 2022 to Rs. 1557.49 crores as on march 31, 2023 thereby showing a decline of -0.9% on YOY basis & has shown increase of 5% on quarterly basis from Rs 1483.13 crores as on 31 December, 2022.

It was informed that the priority sector advances of the district decreased from Rs. 1322.09 crores as on march 31, 2022 to Rs. 1163.03 crores as on march 31, 2023 thereby showing a decline of -12% on YOY basis & -9% on quarterly basis from Rs 1282.70 crores as on 31st December, 2022.

Non priority sector of the district increased from Rs. 416.00 crores as on March 31, 2022 to Rs. 755.54 crores as on march 31, 2023 thereby registering a growth of 82% on YOY basis & 36% on quarterly basis from Rs 554.86 crores as on 31st December, 2022.

On the occasion, DDC emphasized the need for improving the credit flow in Agriculture and allied sectors under the HADP plan. Besides, the credit flow in the Renewable energy sector was also emphasized upon.

The performance with respect to social security schemes under Mission Utkarsh was also discussed and the chair emphasized the need for roping in the people under social security schemes with joint coordination of all concerned agencies.

Besides reviewing the performance of Banks & Govt. departments under various schemes, the Chairman of DCC & DLRC meetings directed the line agencies to sponsor cases and the Banks for speedy disposal of Govt. Sponsored cases.

Taking review of the performance of the banks and the government departments under various schemes, DDC stressed on the need to maintain cooperation, coordination and cohesion between the banks and the sponsoring agencies to achieve the set targets.

The meeting was attended by JDP, Shopian, Khurshid Ahmad; DDM, NABARD, district coordinators of all the banks, heads of departments and other development agencies.
