DDC Poonch inaugurates one day oversea Rozgar Mela organized by District Employment & Counseling Centre Poonch

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner, Yasin Mohammad Choudhary on Saturday inaugurated a one-day overseas rozgar mela at Government Degree College Poonch organized by District Employment & Counseling Centre, Poonch in collaboration with empanelled agencies of Ministry of External Affairs. A large number of youth, especially job seekers from across the district participated enthusiastically.

In the event, four (04) private companies/agencies, emapnelled agencies of ministry of external affairs including Sumarkand tour and travel, oversea recruitment bureau, Al-yafur pvt ltd. Sehar oversea placement services participated offering more than 2800 vacancies and shortlisted over 973 candidates for various posts.

Approximately 3000-3500 candidates participated and 2720 candidates submitted their resumes against different vacancies and 973 were shortlisted for the second round of interview.

During the event 527 candidates have been registered on the spot.

The Deputy Commissioner, while addressing the participants, highlighted the importance of organizing such overseas Rozgar mela. He encouraged agencies to repeat such events to provide job opportunities to the local youth. He also praised the department for organizing the mega event in short intervals for the betterment of the youth. He directed the department to organize such events on a regular basis. Besides this, he laid stress on the unemployed youth to avail the benefits of self-employment schemes. The Deputy Commissioner also advised youth to avail benefits of Career Counseling facility which is a prerequisite for success in competitive examination.

 Earlier, in his welcome address, Mohammad Rafiq,  Deputy Director – DECC, Poonch appraised the Deputy Commissioner regarding aims, objectives and procedure adopted for selection of candidates of the said oversea Rozgar mela and other deliverables/activities of the department such as Registration, Survey of unemployed youth and implementation of various self employment schemes of Mission Youth (Mumkin, Tejaswini, Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative).

Deputy Director – DECC emphasized on registration of unemployed youth on Jk employment portal (jakemp.nic.in) & NCS portal (ncs.gov.in) for availing the benefits of various employment related opportunities.

During the events empanelled agencies also interacted with the DC and participants and briefed about the various opportunities and avenues available in different countries.

The event was attended by Tahir Mustafa Malik, ADC Poonch,  Tanveer Ahmed, CEO Tourism Development Authority Poonch, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi,  ACR Poonch, Mohd Rafiq, Deputy Director Employment, Abdul Rashid Dostum, Xen PDD, Xen Jal shakti and other district and sector officers are also present on the occasion.
