DDC Doda urges JJM contractors to accelerate the progress maintaining standard quality

DODA, OCTOBER 12: In a meeting, District Development Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Mahajan, interacted with the contractors for the execution of works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), and urged them to accelerate the progress of execution on all the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes so as to complete all the 185 taken up schemes across the district by the end of this year to provide safe drinking tap water to every household in the district. The meeting, which took place at the DC office complex here, aimed to address the execution of work and any obstacles in various areas. During the meeting, DC emphasized the importance of timely payments to contractors to expedite ongoing JJM projects.

He urged contractors to work continuously and assured them that any bottlenecks hindering progress would be resolved by the district administration immediately. Furthermore, DC Mahajan stressed the need for contractors to complete their work on time to meet the community’s expectations. He mentioned that the district administration had allocated sufficient funds for JJM schemes.

The DDC was informed that 185 projects, totaling an estimated cost of Rs 748.31 crore, were underway in the district under JJM to provide safe drinking water through tap water connections to households. The meeting also addressed issues related to pipeline installation and discussed the progress of these projects in detail.

The meeting underline the district’s commitment to ensuring safe and reliable drinking water for its residents while urging contractors to expedite the vital JJM projects.

The meeting was attended by the ADDC Doda, CPO Doda, Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Doda, XENs of JSD, Contractors of JJM, and other concerned from the department.
