DDC conducts public outreach cum grievance redressal camp in Basantgarh- Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, September 20: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Saloni Rai led a proactive public outreach cum grievances redressal camp today at Basantgarh.

The event witnessed the participation of key officials and members of the community, including Ashri Devi, DDC Councillor, Kewal Singh Parihar, BDC Chairman, ADDC Ghan Sham Singh, ACD Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, along with various District and Tehsil heads from different departments, PRI members, and residents from neighboring panchayats, all gathered for the weekly Block Diwas.

Participants presented a diverse range of issues and demands, such as staff shortages in government educational institutions, land compensation concerns, the deteriorating condition of the Ramnagar to Dudu road, the need for new Anganwari Centres, footbridge construction, uninterrupted power supply, tourism development, electrification of un-electrified areas, and road maintenance.

During the proceedings, PRIs and locals raised various issues, some of which were promptly addressed on-site, while the remaining concerns were forwarded to the relevant departments for resolution. DDC  encouraged departmental officers to inform the public about beneficiary-oriented schemes and urged people to make use of these initiatives to improve their financial well-being.

The event witnessed active participation from people and PRI members from different Panchayats within the block, as they voiced their grievances and sought swift resolution. DDC emphasized the need for officers to prioritize alleviating the hardships faced by the public and stressed the importance of dedication and sincerity in addressing genuine public grievances within specified timeframes. She also called upon the community to support officers in the speedy execution of development projects.

In the conclusion of the event, DDC distributed smart Kisan credit cards and agricultural equipment among beneficiaries and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) present on the occasion.
