DDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan reviews RDD works in Jammu

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 23: District Development Council Chairman Bharat Bhushan chaired a meeting at PWD Guest House to review the progress and development works of the Rural Development Department in the district.

The meeting was attended by DDC Vice Chairman Suraj Singh, DDC members, Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development Dr Vikas Sharma, Block Development Officers and other officers.

The DDC Chairman assessed the expenditures for the current financial year and directed the officers to ensure timely completion of all the ongoing works under various schemes of RDD.

He took a detailed review of the RDD with respect to District Capex Budget, DDC Grants, BDC Grants and PRI Grants. He further conducted a block-wise review of developmental works under these grants.

The Chairman focussed on the works that are yet to be taken up and instructed the officers to complete them as soon as possible. He appreciated the majority of the blocks for satisfactory expenditures and encouraged all BDOs to spend the remaining funds by March 31.

He also discussed the proposed plans for the next financial year under all grants and asked all DDC members to submit their details by March 12, 2024.

The Chairman concluded that RDD plays a vital role in the rural development and empowerment of the people and urged the officers to work with dedication and sincerity to achieve the desired results.
