DCO Ramban inspects medical stores

RAMBAN, May 10: The Drug and Food Control Organization today conducted a surprise inspection of the medical stores to check the registration, authorization and record of availability and sale of medicines, besides checking quality of medicines.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam, the Drug Control Officer (DCO), Imtiyaz Ahmed inspected medical stores in Chanderkote area of the district Ramban.

During the inspection chemists were instructed to install CCTV cameras and ensure that the sale of Drugs is made only on a valid and proper prescription.

 The Chemists were conveyed that there will be zero tolerance towards misuse of prescription drugs and erring medical shops will be dealt strictly under Drugs & Cosmetics Act. Besides, one drug sample was also lifted from medical stores for determining its quality and purity.  

The department also requested the general public to keep close vigil on persons involved in the trade of Narcotics & Psychotropic drugs and inform the concerned if they found any violation of rules.
