DC Udhampur presides over weekly Block Diwas at Jaganoo

Listens to scores of public issues and demands

UDHAMPUR, May 03- Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today visited Block Jaganoo and listened to public issues at the weekly Block Diwas programme held  in the area.

BDC Chairman, Sanjeet Kumar; Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh; District Panchayat Officer, Manmeet Kumar and other District Officers besides PRIs and general public hailing from adjoining Panchayats of the Block  put forth their issues and demands. They demanded maintenance of link roads, establishment of a veterinary centre, early completion of additional infrastructure of GHSS Jaganoo, Implementation of JJM, meeting shortage of staff in educational institutions, resolving Traffic congestion problem on NH, Water logging problem and augmentation of drinking water etc.

Responding to the demands, the DC issued instructions to the respective departments to look into the issues on priority.

During the camp many grievances were redressed on the spot and directions were issued to concerned officers for the redressal of remaining issues. The DC assured that all the genuine demands will be examined and redressed at appropriate level at an earliest. The DC also appreciated the public centric approach of all PRIs and encouraged them to raise the genuine issues of the public during Weekly Block Diwas.

Interacting with the public, the DC said that such platforms enable District administration to assess the public feedback regarding functioning of government machinery and resolve the problems and issues being faced by the people.

 He exhorted the concerned officers to apprise the general public about different income generating and beneficiary oriented schemes launched by the Government of India and UT Government.
