DC Shopian chairs DTF meeting on Pulse Polio Immunization-2024

SHOPIAN, February 19: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today  chaired a meeting of District Task Force at Mini-Secretariat, here to review the strategies and execution of initiatives pertaining to the Pulse Polio agenda slated for March 3, 2024, encompassing the entire district.

The meeting deliberated upon the scheduled undertakings for National Immunization Day, with a focal point on propagating the theme ‘Vaccines Work for All’ for India’s National Immunization Day.

Throughout the deliberation, DC directed the health department functionaries to ensure optimal dissemination and consciousness-raising regarding the imminent National Pulse Polio.

He implored the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zainapora to synchronize efforts with health department personnel to arrange all requisite arrangements for the occasion. He assured full support from the district administration and urged all to coordinate with health department officials to make all necessary arrangements for the event.

The DC underscored the imperative of instigating targeted publicity forthwith and instructed the Chief Education Officer Shopian to ready the educational faculty and pupils for the impending Pulse Polio commemoration.

The chair was apprised that 241 vaccination booths have been set up across the district, inclusive of 4 transit hubs, 20 places of worship, and 35 remote locales earmarked as centers for the Pulse Polio initiative.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADC) Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; Programme Officer, ICDS; SDM Zainapora, ACR, CMO, District Nodal Officer for Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM), Dy. CMO, District Immunization Officer, BMO and representatives from other departments.
