DC Ramban reviews implementation of Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana  

RAMBAN, January 19: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the Village Development Plan formulated by the line departments for holistic development of village Kanthi  identified by the Union MoS and Member Parliament Udhampur- Kathua Constituency  Dr. Jitendra Singh  under  Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.

Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Sharam, ADC, Harbans Lal Sharma, ACR, Giasul-Haq, ACD, Ashok Singh, CMO, CEO, CHO, CAO, DSHO, Executive Engineers JPDCL and Jal Shakti, DSWO, ARTO, BDO and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

Discussing the basic objective of the scheme, the DC said it aims to keep the rural areas accessible while providing the local people access to quality basic amenities and opportunities to enable them to achieve desired developmental goals.

Mentioning that the scheme is unique and transformative as it has a holistic approach towards development of rural areas, the DC asked the officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Health, Education, Social Welfare, ICDS, Forest and all the departments dealing with job oriented schemes to saturate implementation of the same in Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana village Kanthi which envisages integrated development of the selected village across multiple areas such as. 

The DC asked the officers that besides infrastructure development, the scheme aims at instilling certain values, such as community participation, Antyodaya, gender equality, dignity of women, social justice, spirit of community service, cleanliness, eco-friendliness, maintaining ecological balance, peace and harmony, mutual cooperation, self-reliance, local self-Government, transparency and accountability in public life in the villages so that they get transformed into models for others.

The DC directed the ACD, who is also the Nodal officer for the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, to ensure implementation of the plan in identified villages in coordination with all line departments. He also directed officers to give priority to requirements of the village pertaining to their respective departments.
