DC Rajouri assesses requirement of bunkers in shelling-affected, vulnerable areas

RAJOURI, MAY 19: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the status of panchayats affected by recent cross-border shelling and assess the requirements for the construction of bunkers.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the panchayats impacted by the recent shelling incidents. He inquired about the number of affected and vulnerable panchayats. Special focus was laid on assessing the estimated requirement for the construction of both individual and community border bunkers to ensure the safety and security of residents in vulnerable areas.
The concerned officers provided the chair with updated data and shared inputs on the field situation. The DC emphasized the need for timely planning and coordination among departments to expedite the preparation of proposals for bunker construction and ensure comprehensive protection measures for the residents.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to complete the assessment at the earliest and submit detailed proposals for necessary action.
The meeting was attended by the CPO Maqsood Ahmed; ACR Mohammad Jhangir Khan; ACP Sheraz Chowhan; ACD Auqil Nuvaid; DSEO Sandeep Sharma; EXEN PWD (R&B), Sardar Khan and BDOs. The ADCs concerned and Tehsildars also attended the meeting through online mode.
