DC Kulgam reviews functioning of Social Welfare, ICDS & Social forestry

4347 Cases under SMA sanctioned in 3 years with disbursement of 17.28 crore

KULGAM, MAY 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review the functioning of Social welfare, ICDS, ICPS, OSC and other departments and sectors.

During the meeting, the DSWO through a powerpoint presentation informed the chair that a total of 23,461 new pension cases were sanctioned under the Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) during the past three years.

She also added that the department has achieved 100 percent saturation under ISSS and NSAP.

While briefing about the status of State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMA), she informed that in three years 4347 cases were  sanctioned with  disbursement of 17.28 crore among the beneficiaries.

During the meeting, concerned from ICPS informed the chair that 11 Block level Child Protection Committees have been constituted and 222 Village level Child Protection Committee were also constituted in the district.

District programme officer Kulgam while briefing about the functioning of ICDS in the district apprised the chair that there are 1207 in position Anganwadi centers in the district and briefed about achievements under PMMVY, Poshan Abhiyan and other programmes and schemes of the department.

The DC also reviewed the functioning of Social Forestry department and One Stop Center.

He stressed on all the officers to work with dedication and ensure proper implementation of all the schemes and programmes of the government.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Showkat Ahmad Rather; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Viqar Ahmed Giri; District Programme Officer, Sundeep Singh Bali; District Social Welfare Officer, Snober Altaf; Divisional Forest Officer (SF)  Shamma Rohi; CDPOs and other officers.
