DC Kishtwar discusses action plan to enroll out-of-school children through ULLAS framework
Asks stakeholders to strive for 100% literacy, focus on co-curricular activities
KISHTWAR, JUNE 2: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan today reviewed the progress achieved under the education sector, including the implementation of ULLAS Scheme, status of school infrastructure and progress of ongoing development projects in the district.

The DC urged all stakeholders to intensify efforts to strive for 100% literacy & holistic development of pupils through co-curricular activities.
The review focused on critical issues, including school dropout rate, the status of out-of-school children and the implementation of the ULLAS Scheme, which focuses on improving literacy and critical life skills among individuals aged 15-85.
The Deputy Commissioner asked stakeholders to put in extra efforts to identify out-of-school children to integrate them into the literacy program through the ULLAS framework. “There is an immediate need to conduct detailed research and planning to ensure 100% enrolment of targeted groups,” he added.
Additionally, detailed discussion was held on ongoing developmental projects and infrastructure requirements in schools. The DC directed the officials from R&B and SAMAGRA Shiksha to ensure the completion of works as per the set deadlines.
He also directed school authorities to sensitize the students in morning Assembly regarding Swacchata Abhiyan, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, besides laying special emphasis on vocational training and sports activities.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Shahnawaz Bali; Tehsildar HQA Sunali Rani; Deputy Chief Education Officer Masood Ahmed Qazi; Executive Engineers, ZEOs and representatives from DIET.
