DC Kathua dedicates two ambulances to people

KATHUA, JUNE 11: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas today dedicated two Ambulances to the people at a simple event held here in the DC office Complex. The Ambulances have been donated by Avaada Foundation under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

While appreciating the contribution, Dr. Rakesh Minhas informed that with the addition of these two ambulances, the district’s total ambulance fleet now stands at 41—translating to approximately 6 to 8 ambulances per medical block.

“These ambulances will play a crucial role in timely evacuation and transportation of patients during medical emergencies,” the DC emphasized. He informed that the newly inducted ambulances will be stationed at Kathua and Basohli medical blocks, ensuring better outreach and service delivery.

Highlighting the ongoing efforts to enhance health infrastructure, the DC shared that two floors of the CSC (Community Service Centre) at Billawar are now complete and will soon become operational. He also revealed that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for establishing a Trauma Centre at SDH Hiranagar has been finalized.

“This trauma facility will cater to accident victims along the National Highway corridor and provide advanced care to residents of the border subdivision,” he added.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vijay Raina and representatives from Avaada Foundation were present during the event.
