DC Jammu reviews implementation of PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana
JAMMU, JUNE 01: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired a comprehensive review meeting today to assess the progress of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh; Superintending Engineer PDD, Sanjeev Rohmetra; Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh; Lead District Manager Romesh Chander; Executive Engineers from the Power Development Department and other concerned officers. Sub Divisional Magistrates and Block Development Officers participated virtually.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the number of registrations and applications received under the scheme, as well as the status of promotional and awareness activities. He emphasised the need for coordinated efforts by SDMs, Tehsildars, BDOs and PDD officials to strategise and mobilise public participation to maximise the benefits of the scheme.
The public access to loans for solar installations was also discussed, with the LDM and other officials directed to streamline procedures to ensure ease of access to financial assistance.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of expediting processes to enable the maximum population to benefit from the scheme. He directed all stakeholders to work in unison to achieve the targets set under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, thereby promoting sustainable energy solutions and reducing dependency on conventional power sources.
