DC inspects progress of renovation works at Sports Stadium Doda

DODA, MAY 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh today conducted an inspection of the ongoing development and renovation works here at the Sports Stadium. The visit was aimed at assessing the pace and quality of the construction activities being undertaken to upgrade the stadium’s infrastructure for the benefit of local youth and sports enthusiasts.


During the inspection, the DC reviewed the progress of the renovation of the sports ground and issued directions for ensuring a proper and regular water supply to maintain healthy grass cover on the stadium’s playing surface. He stressed that a well-maintained turf is essential for promoting outdoor sports and creating a safe environment for athletes. The DC also inspected the ongoing tile work in the seating area and instructed the executing agencies to maintain quality standards.


He further directed the officials from the PWD (R&B) Department and the contractor to expedite the pace of work and ensure that all pending tasks are completed within the stipulated timeframe. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significance of the project in enhancing the district’s sports infrastructure, which will help nurture young talent and promote a culture of fitness and physical activity.


The DC emphasized the need for proper coordination among the executing agencies and called for close monitoring to avoid any delays. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to developing modern sports facilities in the district and urged all stakeholders to work diligently towards achieving this goal.
