DC Budgam reviews arrangements for ensuing festival of Eid-ul-Adha

Says, no exorbitant rates will be tolerated on essential commodities during the festival

BUDGAM, JUNE 22: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo today convened a meeting of officers at the conference hall here to review arrangements put in place for the ensuing festival  of Eid-ul-Adha.

During the meeting, the DC directed officers of  PHE and PDD to ensure smooth supply of water and electricity across the district.

He also directed the Jal Shakti department to press water tankers in required areas and ensure no shortage of water at any place.

Officers from Sheep Husbandry informed the chair that adequate numbers of sacrificial animals are available in the district while maintaining quality.

Chief Animal Husbandry Officer informed the meeting that adequate numbers of poultry birds are available in the district.

ACP and Executive officers of Municipal Committees  were directed to ensure proper sanitation in towns, mosques, eidgahs, and other prominent public places

Instructions were passed by the DC to SDMs to constitute joint market checking teams with SDPOs  to intensify market checking and check the quality of food items such as Bakery, Confectionery, Milk, Meat, Chicken, Vegetables, and other essentials in the market and ensure the availability of quality products. 

He enjoined upon them that,  no exorbitant rates are imposed on essential commodities during the festival, and those non-complying with the market rates to be fined and booked under law.

SSP Budgam, Al Tahir Gilini, ADDC Budgam Dr. Akramullah Tak, JD planning, CMO, ACD, ACP, SDMs , all executive Engineer and other District and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
