DC Bandipora visits far-flung areas of Aloosa Tehsil

Meets residents, listens their grievances

BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 07: To address the concerns of residents in remote areas, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ur Rehman visited several far-flung areas of Aloosa Tehsil including Binlipora, Ketson and other adjoining areas.

During the visit, the DC interacted with locals, listened to their issues and demands, and assured them of prompt action.

The DC was accompanied by ADC Bandipora Umar Shafi, Tehsildar Aloosa and other officers from the district administration.

On the occasion, residents raised various concerns. At Aloosa Binlipora, the families affected by the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) project sought compensation for land acquisition and other damages.

The Villagers of upper Ketson highlighted the inadequacy of access to clean drinking water and requested the establishment of new water supply schemes. The residents also demanded the installation of additional electricity poles to improve power supply in their areas.

The DC gave a patient hearing to all the grievances and assured the residents that the administration would take necessary steps to address their concerns on a priority basis. He directed the concerned officials to conduct a thorough assessment of the demands and submit a detailed report within the stipulated time frame.

The DC instructed the PMGSY department to expedite the process of land acquisition compensation and ensure timely disbursement to affected families.

He directed the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department to conduct a survey to identify areas facing water scarcity and formulate a plan for establishing new water supply schemes.

The Power Development Department (PDD) was instructed to conduct a power audit in the affected areas and install additional electricity poles as required.

The DC also visited Binlipora-A Water Supply Scheme where he inspected different components of the scheme and interacted with the concerned regarding different aspects of the scheme. He was informed that the scheme is complete and shall be made functional in near future for the larger interest of the residents.
