Congress leaders demand reservation orders for Paharis before announcement of polls

RAJOURI, March15: Senior Pahari leaders have taken strong exception to the non-issuance of the reservation orders by the Govt. after the granting S.T. status to Paharis and demanded immediate orders in this regard before the announcement of poll schedule, so that eligible Pahari youth can apply under category and avail the benefits.

In a joint statement former Minister and DDC Vice Chairman Rajouri Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan, Former Dy Chairman Legislative Council  Shri Jahangir Hussain Mir, former President Municipal Council Poonch  S. Rajinder Singh  Kaka,  Former Councilor & Senior Leader Rajesh Gupta-President Bepar Mandal Rajouti have expressed concern over the  inordinate delay in the issuance of orders of reservation for the Pahari  tribe after grant of ST status.

They said the Govt. has been unnecessarily delaying the issuance of orders  earmarking the percentage of reservation to the Paharis under the ST quota,  keeping in view the elections. The Pahari youth are feeling restless on this count and the Govt. should immediately issue orders granting due quota to paharis as per their population to facilitate the eligible pahari youth to apply for various posts under ST quota.
