Congress demands equal treatment to all Official languages in Naib Tehsildar test

Jammu,June 20:-  Congress has demanded equal treatment to all recognized official languages like urdu   in the selections of Naib Tehsildars and other such posts in J&K UT.

Reacting to the recent controversy over selections to the 75 posts of Naib Tehsildars in which only Urdu language has been prescribed  as essential qualification ignoring other languages, JKPCC  has said that Congress favours equal treatment to all Official languages in UT,, in such selections in order to remove any discrimination in such selections.

JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Mr Ravinder Sharma said our party had stated from day one of the coming into light of this issue that all official languages should enjoy equal treatment, particularly  when the revenue record is being translated in English and Hindi.

He  said  when  precedents are already available, as similar issue had come up during our coalition government in 2010 when Shri Raman Bhalla was Revenue Minister. The Congress – NC goveenmennt ensured justice to Naib Tehsildar candidates & Patwari candidates, by exempting Urdu as compulsory qualification, although Urdu was the  official language  of J&K state at that time. These candidates underwent urdu training and qualified the requisite test thereafter and all joined the job.

He said requisite notification rectifying the  mistake be issued without any further delay.

However ,Sharma said BJP failed to ensure justice to candidates in the selections of Naib Tehsildar in the year 2019 under central rule. It’s unfortunate that this injustice happened to Jammu candidates despite nice precedents in the past,he added.
