Cong flays BJP-led government for bulldozing democratic institutions

UDHAMPUR, April 2:Senior Congress leader and Incharge of Jai Bharat Satyagraha Udhampur District Pranav Shagotra on Sunday lambasted the BJP-led government for brazenly bulldozing democratic institutions in the country.

“The Congress party and almost the entire opposition is on the streets, for the last so many weeks to save democracy”, he said while addressing a press conference here today.

Krishna chand Bhagat DCC President EX MLA, Dina Nath Bhagat EX MLA, Sumeet Magotra, Shakeel Shah,Balbir Singh, Vinod Khajuria, Vijay Manhas, Om Prakash, Parvesh Shah, Suraj Choudhary, Sanjay Sharma, Dwarka Parashar Ashok Bakshi, Manav Upaday, Surinder Khajuria, Yash Pal Shivam Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Vikas Khajuria,Tirth Ram, Mohan lal Kalsotra and Shashi Manhas were present in the press conference.

“There is serious attack  on the democracy and  the Constitution and the rights of citizens especially  on the right to express freely  and the right to protest” Congress leader said.

“Through out the country, Congress party has further launched a month long Jai Bharat Satyagrah, against the Modi govt’s politics of vendetta and suppression of the voice of opposition, he said.

Congress leader further informed that on 1st April yesterday, a peaceful protest/Satyagreh was held through out country ,in front of the statue of father of the Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar  jointly organised by SC, ST, OBC and minority wing of the congress party, to safeguard the Constitution and the Constitutional values and democracy in the country.

Mr Shagotra further said that  Modi govt came to power with the slogan of “Congress Mukt Bharat’ but in fact It wants opposition Mukt Bharat and has been continuously persuing the agenda since it came to power. In the run up to the next year general election,it has intensified to crush the voice of opposition especially Congress party and it’s fearless leadership of Shri Rahul Gandhi.

Congress leader observed that the successful Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, led by  Shri Rahul Gandhi, has un- nerrved  the  BJP and so it’s attack on democracy, ,constitution and Rahul Gandhi intensified.

Further more, the Modi govt  got frustrated by the questions & exposure  of Modi – Adani  relationship in the lok sabha by Shri Rahul Gandhi on 7th Feb.

Instead of  replying to the serious issue raised by Rahul Gandhi on Adani, the Modi govt  & BJP hatched the entire drama,so that PM  has not to reply to Rahul’s questions .

He expressed surprise that with in  24 hours of Conviction, , he was disqualified and in next 48 hours, he was asked to vacate his residence.

Rahul Gandhi and Congress party will always follow rule of law. But why it is different for Rahul Gandhi and Congress and opposition and different for ruling party and it’s allies. There are examples of people being favoured with palatial bunglows after years of ceasing to have entitlements and even fresh allotments without entitlements. For quick reminder, it is to tell you that Nehru -Gandhi family has donated palatial houses  worth hundreds of crores of rupees, to the nation , although Rahul Gandhi has already declared to follow the law in the issue.

“Suppressing the voice of opposition means suppressing the voice of majority people of this country. The Congress party and  Shri Rahul Gandhi has always raised the issues of common people of all sections, during nine years of BJP regime , be it farmers, youth, business class, working class and issues of greater public concern” he said.

He reminded that the Modi govt which came came into power to bring black money and bring transparency and end corruption, failed to bring back  and recover from those who fled from the country looting the thousands of crores of tax payers money from our banks.

“Lakhs of crores of loans  were waived off while the poor farmers and others are chased by the banks in case of any default for small loans” he pointed out.

Shri Rahul Gandhi raised a very simple but serious question in the parliament on Feb 7, as to how a man rose to number two from 609 in the list of richest men.

“The nation wanted to know about the huge investment of 20,000 crores in the shell companies of Mr Adani and whose money is this?

What kind of relationship is between PM and Mr Adani?.

And why not a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into all this to tell the truth to the nation, as has happened in the past in such matters” he asked, adding

“But instead, you all know what happened there after and the entire opposition is on the streets seeking justice from the country men to fight for the rights of common citizens and save tax payers money from being looted, they include, 30 cr LIC policy holders and other small investors.

Come, join the Congress struggle for democracy, constitution and freedom of individual citizens ans safeguard the  assets and tax payers money”.

Giving details about Satyagraha he said that for thel month, the Congress party and it’s cadres shall be on the streets in the form of Jai Bharat Satyagraha.
