Comprehensive Review of Drinking Water, Stormwater, Sewerage, and T-Trench Projects by Secretary PHE/I&FC, UT Ladakh, Michael D’souza (IAS)

LEH, August 23: After assuming the charge of Secretary of PHE/I&FC, UT Ladakh, Michael D’souza (IAS) reviewed the various projects of Public Health Engineering (PHE), and Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) at the Civil Secretariat, Leh.

The Secretary conducted a review of different projects related to drinking water supply systems in towns, stormwater projects, sewerage systems, and T-Trench projects. During the review, Michael D’souza assessed the progress, effectiveness, and efficiency of these projects. He aimed to ensure that the projects were achieving their intended goals, benefiting the communities, and making the most of available resources. This approach helps in making informed decisions, addressing issues, and guiding projects toward successful completion, he urged.

The Project Management Unit (PMU) team, along with the concerned engineers from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) departments, provided a comprehensive briefing to the Secretary. The briefing covered a range of topics related to ongoing and planned projects in both districts of the Ladakh Union Territory.

The meeting was attended by Zakir Hussain (KAS) Deputy Secretary; Haji Mohd Ali (Exen PHE); Ghulam Mohiddin (Exen I&FC); Tsering Angchuk, (Xen IGOO PHEY); Saleem Ahmad (AEE) and officials of PMU consultants.
