Demands Degree collage for Peeri

RAJOURI, December 24: Apni Party Vice President and Former Minister, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today demanded completion of the pending developmental projects in Rajouri.

Addressing a public meeting in Gura Sarkari in Darhal, Rajouri, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali appealed to the authorities to provide basic amenities to the people in rural and remote areas of Rajouri district.

He said that the people are deprived of health, and education infrastructure.

“The poor infrastructure and human resources shortage in health and educational institutions has disturbed the normal life as the people have to cover long distances from their remote areas to get medical care or education,” he said.

Referring to the plight of the students, he said that the students from the remote areas especially from Gura have to travel far away to get education in the Govt School even for primary education.

He, therefore, demanded High School of the area (Gura) and construction of a road from Gura Sarkari to Mandar Gala via kurina  Deri up to Mander Gala.

He also demanded that the electricity charges should be waived off in favour of the villagers as they do not use much electricity and are recovering double bills. He said that these farmers/villagers should be treated on the basis of BPL ration card under NFSA PHH category considering their financial condition by the PDD.

He also demanded ration under J and k food security scheme  during festivals and other occasions for the BPL as well as APL families in the villages under national food security.

He also said that the people are facing problems due to the LG administration’s failure to perform on the ground due to which the people have developed a feeling of alienation that the Govt is unable to address their developmental issues.

“There is no alternative to an elected Govt. For the last over 3 years, the LG administration has been working in place of an elected Govt which has widened the gap with the public,” he said.

He said that “To end the public suffering and ensure development in every nook and corner, the holding of assembly elections is a must in Jammu and Kashmir.”

“The downgrading of J&K from a historic State to a Union Territory is another issue and it must be addressed by restoring the statehood to J&K,” he said, reminding assurance given to the people of J&K from the floor of the Parliament of India.

He said that the development is not being equally provided to the rural areas and even in some of the ongoing developmental works, the pace of development is very slow.

“The unemployment, underdevelopment, health, education, drinking water and electricity supply are among the main issues which need urgent attention of the Govt. The Govt must come out with a policy for fast trace recruitment of the unemployed youth in different sectors,” he said.

He said that although every unemployed person cannot be employed in the Govt sector, awareness about the Govt schemes for initiation of self employment is a must.

“The people are not aware about many projects or welfare schemes of the Govt,” he added.

He, however, assured the people that their demands and suffering will be addressed if the Apni Party forms the next Govt in J&K.

He referred to the social security schemes and other developmental agenda which Apni Party wants to implement on the ground so that the public can be provided a welfare Govt.

He said that “If Apni Party forms next Govt, we will implement the provide four cooking gas cylinders to each family per year under Ujjawala Scheme, will enhance widow pension scheme up to Rs 5000, will provide free of cost electricity up to 500 units in Jammu during summer season and 300 units in winter season.”

The meeting was also addressed by District President Rajouri, Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah Bukhari, Sarpanch Mohammed Fazal Chauhan, Sarpanch Choudhary Mir Hussain, Ex-Sarpanch Neeraj Sharma, Ex-Sarpanch Raja Gul Mohammed, Ex-Sarpanch Bagh Hussain, Haji Faqar Din, Mohammed Aslam, Javed Iqbal, Showkat Ali, Youth President Mira Baksh, and others.
