Centre for Molecular Biology, CUJ hosts Journal Club Seminar on “Oral Microbiome Dysbiosis”

Jammu, 08 April 2024: The Centre for Molecular Biology at Central University of Jammu hosted a weekly journal club meeting. In the meeting, research scholar Mr Manish Kumar Mishra delivered a talk titled “Disrupting balance: Oral microbiome dysbiosis due to lifestyle habits.” The talk emphasized the significance of healthy lifestyle habits to maintain a healthy oral microbiome and how factors such as diet, oral hygiene practices, smoking, alcohol, stress, and medication use can influence the balance of the oral microbiome which ultimately leads to disorders like dental caries, periodontal diseases, oral thrush, halitosis, oral cancers, etc.

 The meeting was coordinated by Dr Narendra K. Bairwa, Associate Professor, CMB, CUJ. The students, scholars, and faculty of the Centre had fruitful discussions about prioritizing oral health and adopting a healthy lifestyle to achieve overall well-being.  During the meeting, the peer group discussions were encouraged to advance the knowledge and raise awareness about oral microbiome dysbiosis.

Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu, and Dr Swarkar Sharma, Director, Centre for Molecular Biology, praised the Centre’s efforts in giving its students an excellent scientific environment.
