Budgam police bust illicit timber operation, seize 8 logs

In a swift action based on a tip-off, the Budgam Police seized illicit timber from the forest area of Village Hamchipora on Wednesday.

Acting on specific information received from a reliable source, a team from Police Station (PS) Khag promptly reached the designated location in the Hamchipora forest.

Upon reaching the spot, the police officials successfully seized illicit timber comprising eight logs, measuring a total of 12 cubic feet (Cft).

Investigations into the origins of the illicit timber haul are ongoing, with authorities vowing to pursue stringent legal action against those found complicit in the illicit trade.
