Block Diwas: DM addresses public grievances at Chowki Choura

JAMMU, JANUARY 31: District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya, on Wednesday chaired the weekly Block Diwas programme at the SDM Office Chowki Choura, where he interacted with the public and their representatives to listen  to their issues and demands.

The programme, which was also attended by DDC member Suresh Sharma and other senior officers, aimed to provide a platform to the people to voice their concerns and aspirations directly to the authorities and seek redressal of their grievances.

One of the major issues projected was the land acquisition and compensation process. Another issue that was brought to the attention of the DM was the teaching staff requirement and the upgrading of infrastructure of the Higher Secondary School Chowki Choura and other local schools.

The poor mobile network connectivity was another major grievance raised by the public. The issue of provision of ration cards was pointed out by some members of the public. The health facilities and their accessibility was another hot topic of discussion.

The DM assured the public that the administration will work tirelessly to resolve these issues and provide them with better amenities and services. He also took note of the demand for a PT teacher and called for its resolution.

Interacting with the public, the DM encouraged them to support their wards and be vigilant about their studies and the quality of education being provided in the local schools. He called upon the parents and guardians to motivate the youngsters and keep them away from negative influences and especially drugs menace. He also underlined the role of society in weeding out evils from the society and its progress and development.

Among the officers present on the occasion were Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, SDM Varinder Gupta, Tehsildar, Block Development Officer and other district officers and officials.
