BJP holds ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ meeting, presses for cultural harmony & voter awareness

Jammu, 03 June 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir unit, held a meeting under the ongoing national campaign “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Narinder Singh, BJP National Secretary and MLA from R.S. Pura – Jammu South Assembly constituency. He was joined by Shambhu Sharan Patel, Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar and Incharge of the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” campaign for Jammu & Kashmir, Baldev Singh Billawaria, the campaign’s Convenor for J&K, Munish Khajuria, Convenor for the Jammu Administrative District, and Ramesh Gupta, Co-Convenor for the same district.

District convenors and co-convenors associated with the campaign, along with representatives of various organizations representing the Pravasi (migrant) community living in the region, also participated in the meeting.

Dr. Narinder Singh emphasized the importance of the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” programme in promoting cultural understanding and mutual respect among people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. He said that the initiative, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, aims to build deeper bonds among the citizens of different states and union territories. He noted that the programme plays a pivotal role in fostering national unity and a collective Indian identity.

Shambhu Sharan Patel, in his address, made a special appeal to members of the Pravasi population, particularly those originally from Bihar, encouraging them to stay connected with their roots. He urged them to participate in the upcoming State Assembly Elections, underlining that voting is not just a right but a vital democratic responsibility.

Baldev Singh Billawaria shared detailed insights into various initiatives undertaken across Jammu & Kashmir under the campaign. He remarked that breaking down regional barriers through such interactions is key to building a more unified and integrated nation.

Munish Khajuria reiterated the BJP’s commitment to build a culturally inclusive India under the leadership of PM Modi. He stressed that the party envisions an India where every region’s heritage is valued and celebrated.
