Baramulla police apprehend drug peddler, seize heroin

In a continuing effort to curb the drug menace in the region, Baramulla police arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized contraband substances from his possession during a routine check.

The arrest took place near the Eco Park checkpoint on the Sheeri NHW, where officers from Sherri Police Station stopped an individual for questioning. A search uncovered 10 grams of a substance believed to be heroin.

The detainee was placed under arrest and brought to the Sherri police station. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation is underway.
