Balidan Divas of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee observed with patriotic fervour in Srinagar

Srinagar, 24 June 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu and Kashmir observed the Balidan Divas of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee with deep reverence and patriotic spirit at the party office in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar.

The occasion was marked by heartfelt tributes to the great nationalist leader who sacrificed his life for the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India.

Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), BJP J&K, accompanied by senior BJP leaders Altaf Thakur, Arif Raja, Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir, Wani Mudasir, Bilal Parray, Sajid Yousuf Shah, Sahil Bashir Bhat, Ashok Bhat, and others paid floral tributes on the occasion. Party workers and supporters gathered in large numbers to pay their respects and remember the towering legacy of Dr. Mukherjee.

Addressing the gathering, Ashok Koul said the commemorative programme was organized to honour the unmatched contribution of Dr. Mukherjee, whose martyrdom is etched in the nation’s history as a pivotal moment in the struggle for one nation, one constitution.

Ashok Koul said, “Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was a visionary patriot whose supreme sacrifice laid the foundation for a unified India. His slogan ‘Ek desh mein do Vidhan, do Pradhan, aur do Nishan nahi chalenge’ still reverberates in the soul of every nationalist Indian. His ideology continues to guide our commitment to national integrity, especially in Jammu and Kashmir.”

He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation has fulfilled Dr. Mukherjee’s dream by abrogating Article 370, bringing true integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India.

Speakers on the occasion recalled his courageous stand and untiring efforts for the unity of the nation. They reiterated that Dr. Mukherjee’s ideology remains the guiding light for the BJP’s nationalist vision.

Floral tributes were paid to Dr. Mukherjee’s portrait, followed by a pledge by all attendees to uphold his ideals and continue working for a united and strong India.
