B2V-5 concludes in all 98 panchayats at Shopian

VOs exhort 100% penetration of online services among rural population to expedite public services delivery

SHOPIAN, November 14: The phase fifth of government’s ‘Back to Village’ (B2V5) programme concluded today in 98 panchayats of 09 blocks in district Shopian.

The outreach programme in Shopian district, under the unique initiative of the UT Government was supervised and managed by the District Administration Shopian, under the leadership of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb.

During the programme, the Visiting Officers (VOs) visited their respective panchayats, stayed there for a specific period to interact and obtain feedback from the grassroots to deliver the mission of equitable development in rural areas.

During the last leg of the outreach programme, VOs including Administrator, Associated Hospitals, GMC Srinagar, Hashmat Ali Yatoo; Director, Accounts and Treasuries, Abdul Hamid Kumar; Member, Special  Tribunal, Ashiq Hussain Lily; Director, Land Management, Srinagar Dev. Authority, Zahoor Ahmed Magray; Additional Secretary to Government, Social Welfare Department, Khursheed Ahmed Sanai participated in the B2V-5 programmes and reiterated the commitment of the administration to empower the people of the district and engage them actively in policy making for their own development.

The VOs accompanied by field functionaries of the line departments listened to the public, participated in the Gram Sabhas and prepared the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) as per their requirements.

The Prabhari Officers also ensured the awareness and saturation of all the government schemes.

The VOs exhorted upon the 100% penetration of online services in the rural population to expedite the public services delivery in a transparent manner and inspected various government institutions viz schools, Anganwadi Centres, Ration Depots, Panchayat Ghars etc.

They visited the sites of ongoing and completed works under MGNREGA, PMAY, SBM and other schemes. They also Inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of some of the important public assets.

VOs inspected Amrit Sarovars, interacted with the public especially youth and created awareness on self-employment schemes. Feedback on welfare schemes, service delivery was also reviewed by them.

The resource persons of various departments also educated the public about scores of welfare schemes and programmes being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail benefits of the same.

The VOs will submit their reports based on aspirations and feedback of the people, on a designated portal and have also submitted a hard copy of the same in the district level cell created for the compilation of the reports for future planning.

Huge public participation across the district reflected the high expectations of the people on the government, which is bringing a positive change for progress, development, and prosperity of the district.
