‘Ayushman Bhava’ campaign picks pace in Kupwara; reaches to remote areas of LoC

KUPWARA, September 26: The fortnightly Ayushman Bhava campaign has picked pace in frontier Kupwara district where Health authorities are organising Ayushman Melas and camps to target  non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cancers (oral, cervical and breast cancers), maternal and child health and anaemia besides presumptive examination for TB.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan the District Administration in collaboration with Health department has put in place adequate arrangements to deliver multiple components of the Centrally-administered ‘Ayushman Bhava’ campaign that aims to saturate all healthcare services in every village/ town with last-mile coverage where Health department is providing 100% coverage of households for a set of health services.

CMO Kupwara, DR. Ramzan said that under Ayushman Bhava, 397 Ayushman Melas at Health and Wellness centre level have been organised across the district where around 20,000 patients were screened for NCDs and around 5400 ABHA IDs were created.

CMO added that during the campaign, 450 Golden Cards were generated as well.

A mega Ayushman Bhava camp was organised by GMC Handwara at CHC level where 230 patients got treated, 4 Blood donation camps were conducted and 113 pints of blood were collected.

Meanwhile, an Ayushman Mela was organised today at Health and Wellness Centre Bahadur Kote (Karnah) close to LoC. Hundreds of persons in the area were screened for NCDs, maternal and Child Health and anemia.

A blood donation camp at CHC Sogam was also organised today during which 42 blood points were collected.

As envisaged by the Government of India, the ‘Ayushman Bhava’ initiative is involving a set of interventions including ‘Ayushman – Apke Dwar 3.0’ (speedy issuance of Golden Cards) and ‘Ayushman Sabhas’ (to spread health awareness and availability of treatment facilities).
