Avoid Prejudice, pretension & peremptory attitude towards Kashmir minority community: GL R

JAMMU, December 23: Jammu Appalled by what has been termed a “Loud & Clear ” message of LG administration to all minority community employees serving in Kashmir valley, Girdhari Lal Raina @ Ajey Bharti,  former MLC and spokesperson of  BJP JK-UT has expressed deep concern over tendency to undermine and compromise basic/fundamental rights of minority community.  He said claims of ‘all necessary safety measures’ having been taken sound hollow and do not match the ground reality, not to speak of actual requirements.

Most important aspect of security is safe accommodation, which continues to allude & haunt these employees.  UT administration has completely failed on this front, he stressed. Even a cursory look at the number of residential units required and compare it with the number of units accorded administrative sanction or units under construction reveals the mismatch concealed in loud statements of UT administration, Raina pointed out.

It may be recalled, Ex-MLC said, that out of 6000 transit accommodation units envisaged in PM’S employment package just a small percentage stand sanctioned administratively and only around 600 to 800 units will be available for allotment in the second half of 2023. Even LG Manoj Sinha has now begun to accept hiccups in this regard which was not the case earlier.

Where are other employees supposed to live? What mechanism has the administration devised and if anything has been planned has the same been conveyed to these employees, asked Raina?. Expressing concern over denial of salaries to even those employees who joined their duties,  GL Raina termed it vendetta.

Former Member of Legislative Council J&K was anguished by continuous leaking of information about minority community employees to terrorist outfits who have published the same on social media platforms with threats of physical harm to these soft targets.

If all necessary safety measures have been undertaken as is the claim, how and why do these social media platforms continue to be operational in Jammu Kashmir? How does UT administration explain continuous running of websites of terrorists and their sympathisers with postings of threats and identity of proposed targets, he quipped.

GLRAINA stressed the need for a realistic approach that is devoid of prejudice, pretension and peremptory attitude. Democratic conduct requires accommodative approach and sensitivity. Authoritarian ways will only harm long term national interests.
