Ashok Koul chairs BJP Kishtwar district meeting; reviews 11-year celebration programmes and upcoming events

Kishtwar, 21 June 2025: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir General Secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul convened an important meeting of the BJP District Kishtwar unit to take stock of the ongoing programmes being held as part of the nation-wide celebrations marking 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. The meeting, held at the party office in Kishtwar, witnessed the presence of prominent BJP leaders and functionaries from across the district.

Ashok Koul, while addressing the gathering, lauded the dedicated efforts of the Kishtwar unit in ensuring the successful execution of programmes under the “Sewa, Sushasan, aur Garib Kalyan ke 11 Saal” campaign. He emphasized the importance of connecting with the grassroots to communicate the monumental achievements and transformative initiatives undertaken by the Modi government over the past decade.

“Every year under PM Modi’s leadership has been a testament to decisive governance, inclusive development, and unwavering service to the poorest of the poor. From abrogation of Article 370 to Ayushman Bharat and PM Awas Yojana, people have witnessed real change in their lives,” said Ashok Koul.

He further directed the party cadre to actively prepare for two significant upcoming events — the Punyatithi of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee on June 23, and the observance of Black Day on June 25 to denounce the imposition of the Emergency by the Congress government in 1975.

“The sacrifice of Dr. Mookherjee must be remembered with utmost respect and commitment to his ideals. His vision for a united India was realized through the removal of Article 370. Equally, we must educate the youth about the dark days of Emergency when democracy was strangled under Congress rule,” Koul added.

Shagun Parihar, MLA from Kishtwar, also addressed the gathering and reiterated the commitment of the local leadership to strengthen the party at the booth level. “Kishtwar has seen development under BJP’s governance, and it is our duty to communicate that effectively. We are fully geared for upcoming programmes and outreach initiatives,” she said.

District President Ravi Parihar highlighted the district’s active participation in all national-level programmes. “From Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatras to social service campaigns, Kishtwar BJP karyakartas have worked tirelessly to carry forward the Prime Minister’s vision. We are ready to observe Dr. Mookherjee’s Punyatithi with full reverence and mark Emergency Day as a symbol of our commitment to democracy,” he stated.

Tariq Hussain Keen, State Secretary BJP, praised the unity and energy of the Kishtwar team. “Kishtwar BJP has become a strong and disciplined unit. Our strength lies in our grassroots connect and tireless commitment to organizational goals. Let us continue to work with the same zeal in the days to come,” he asserted.

Gajay Singh Rana, Prabhari Kishtwar, along with senior leaders including Chuni Lal Shan, Pardeep Parihar, Braj Mohan Sharma, Capt. Hukam Chand, Akshay Sharma, and many other dedicated karyakartas, were present in the meeting and actively participated in the deliberations.
