Anil Kapoor Celebrates 15 Years Of His Blockbuster Movie Welcome

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor celebrated his 2007 blockbuster movie ‘Welcome’ and took to his Twitter handle to share a few stills with his co-stars Akshay, Nana Patekar and Feroz Khan. 

He captioned it as, “15 years ago Majnu bhai picked up the paintbrush and the rest is history! #Welcome was, is and always will be one of my most cherished films for the sheer joy it has brought people! It’s amazing how some stories & characters just live on even years later…” In the movie, Anil Kapoor played the role of Sagar aka Majnu bhai, a gangster and wannabe painter.

He added another tweet tagging his co-stars Mallika Sherawat and Paresh Rawal along with director Anees Bazmee and wrote, “Thanks for giving #Welcome & Majnu Bhai so much love!” 

Fans were excited to see the post and flooded the comment section with nostalgia. “It was a fab film. All characters were brilliant”, commented a person. “We watch every month, sometimes even twice a month”, commented another, followed by heart emoji. “I have watched this movie 100 times. Thank you Majnu bhai”, commented the third one. “Hope Bollywood start making again some good movies like this”, commented another.

The blockbuster film Welcome was directed and co-written by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. It starred Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Feroz Khan, Mallika Sherawat and Paresh Rawal. Released in 2007, the film has completed 15 years and is still the favourite of many people.

The film spawned its sequel, Welcome Back, in 2015, which also became a commercial success. Jug Jug Jeeyo actor Anil Kapoor will next be seen in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The film also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna.
