AIBOA (J&K & Ladakh) State Committee Holds General Body Meeting in Jammu, Calls for Focused Development and Local Recruitment
Jammu, 24 May: The All India Bank Officers’ Association (AIBOA) Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh State Committee conducted its General Body Meeting in Jammu, where members discussed key regional issues, particularly the need for accelerated economic development and a special recruitment drive in the banking sector.

In the meeting, the Committee emphasized the urgent requirement for the Central Government to allocate and promptly release funds for the comprehensive development of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Referred to as the “Switzerland of India” for its scenic beauty, agricultural productivity, and vibrant tourism potential, the region, according to the Committee, needs strong infrastructural and economic support to realize its full potential. With a democratically elected government now in place, participants stressed that bureaucratic delays in releasing developmental funds should be avoided.
Another major issue raised was the need for a special recruitment drive in the banking sector. The Committee advocated for opening new bank branches in unbanked areas and emphasized recruiting local youth to better serve the region’s unique linguistic and cultural needs. It was further recommended that all bank branches be equipped with trained security personnel appointed through government channels.
