Agriculture department Ramban organises one day training programme

RAMBAN, March 03: The Department of Agriculture Production & Farmers’ Welfare hosted a one day training on Dhingri mushroom cultivation for the women members of Kothri Self Help Group (SHG). The training was held under the government sponsored programme on Food Security Group for Women.

Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO), Sudhir Manhas and Subject Matter Specialist (SMS),Sunil Gupta gave demonstration on the Dhingri cultivation and also motivated  the women participants  to adopt this easy and cost effective trade to get high profits and nutrition rich food.

Each woman was given two packets of hybrid vegetable seeds free of cost and some of them were given packets of Dhingri spawn (seeds) and polythene bags free of cost.

The SDAO assured them of all support and guidance at any time. He assured them that the department would help them in more such profitable programmes so that they become self-reliant in the easiest way.

The women expressed their gratitude to the officers for the training programme at their doorstep.

“Mushroom cultivation is an easy and cost effective occupation which is suitable for women who can do it at their homes while performing their family responsibilities,” said a local woman Lalita Devi.

Agriculture Extension Officer, Ravinder Singh, Agriculture Extension Assistant, Ramneek Singh and Agriculture Extension Assistant, Hafiz Mir also sensitized the farmers during the training programme.
