Agriculture department Kishtwar sends farmers on Exposure Visit cum Training Program

KISHTWAR, September 02: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, District Kishtwar, today sent a group of 15 farmers for a 5-day Exposure Visit cum Training program.

This educational endeavor is being conducted as a part of the Sub Mission of Agriculture Extension (ATMA) and is set to take place at the esteemed institutions of SKUAST Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Jammu.

The initiative has received unwavering support and guidance from the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav, who has provided vital direction for its successful execution.

Furthermore, the meticulous planning and supervision of Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Amjad Hussain Malik, have been instrumental in ensuring the program’s smooth operation.

The Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal, presided over the official flag-off ceremony of the contingent. This significant event was attended by key officials including Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar Amjad Hussain Malik, Saffron Development Officer Amarjeet Sen, and DAO Sanjay Sharma, besides other officials.

The ADDC, while interacting with the farmers on the occasion, said that the visit has been organised for making the farmers aware of the latest technologies for commercial agriculture, Realtime trends in organic farming and cultivation of different agriculture crops on scientific lines.

He impressed upon them to interact with the farm scientists, experts, and extension functionaries to get acquainted with up to date methodologies in crop cultivation on scientific lines.

He also asked them to enhance their technical skills in the field of integrated farming and to adopt the advanced technologies for cultivation of different agricultural crops after learning from such training/exposure visits.

The farmers participating in this educational venture hail from various agriculture sub-divisions and have displayed great enthusiasm in their quest to acquire new techniques and knowledge. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Administration for providing them with this invaluable opportunity for growth and learning.
