ADDC Kishtwar reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission projects

KISHTWAR, May 11:   Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar, Sham Lal today chaired a meeting here in his office to review the progress of work on Water Supply Schemes (WSS) taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

The meeting was attended by ExEN PHE, Sunil Sharma; Coordinator DPMU, Vishal Singh; District Head TPQI, Jagjeet Singh,  besides AEES, JES of all PHE sub-divisions of the district.

During the meeting, the officials informed the chair that out of the 129 tendered water supply schemes, 90 works have been allotted, while work on 60 Water Supply Schemes is in full swing.

The chair directed ExEN PHE Sunil Sharma to start work on additional 15 schemes within a week’s time.

The meeting discussed various bottlenecks hampering the progress of WSS under JJM, and the concerned quarters were issued directions to remove the encumbrances immediately to ensure timely completion of the WSS.

To fast-track the implementation of JJM in the district, the chair informed the officials that regular review meetings would be conducted and the next meeting would be held on May 18.

The officials were directed to ensure the submission of action taken on the deliberations made in today’s meeting.

The progress on the establishment of Jal Shakti Kendra in the district was also taken up in the meeting. The ADDC directed the officials to ensure the establishment of the Kendra within a week’s time, so that a knowledge and technical guidance center is established and linked with a helpline number for public ease.

Overall, the meeting was productive, and the officials were urged to work diligently to ensure the successful implementation of JJM in the district.
