ADDC Kishtwar chairs weekly meeting to review progress of Jal Jeevan Mission

KISHTWAR, JUNE 02: Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Sham Lal today convened the weekly meeting with officers/officials of Jal Shakti Department to review the implementation of different works taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission.

He also reviewed the progress of ongoing works taken up to provide safe drinking water to all villages of district Kishtwar under Jal Jeevan Mission.

The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Sunil Kumar Sharma, IEC District Coordinator Riaz Ahmed Butt, all the Assistant Executive Engineers, representatives of DFO Marwah and Kishtwar, Team Leader GVT for ISA activities and the Junior Engineers of Jal Shakti department. 

The ADDC directed the department to strengthen the groundwork for the start of the pending schemes, including seeking their forest clearance.

The Executive Engineer Jal Shakti department Kishtwar Sunil Kumar Sharma apprised the meeting about the progress on ongoing works under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The ADDC directed to allot the tendered water supply schemes at an earliest and asked to fill the gap between allotted works and started works. The chair was further informed that of  129 tendered out schemes, 105 have been allotted and work has started on 63. Regarding the monthly target of FHTCs, the concerned functionaries informed that 880 new functional tap connections have been provided in this month and subsequently uploaded on IMIS portal.  

District Coordinator IEC informed the chair that theme based wall paintings are being created across the district to promote water conservation. He further informed that FTK training to 5 women per allotted village has also been completed and submitted to the JJM directorate.
