ADDC Bandipora flags-off farmer’s group for exposure tour to SKUAST

BANDIPORA, March 05: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan on Saturday flagged-off a group of farmers for an exposure tour to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences (SKUAST) Kashmir.

DDC Vice Chairperson and Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora were also present on the occasion at Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

Officials said a group of 20 farmers went on a two-day tour to SKUAST Kashmir to take first hand appraisal of the modern scientific techniques being used to improve the crop and double the income.

ADDC said the purpose of the tour was to expose the progressive farmers to the latest technologies being adopted for profitable and sustainable fruit cultivation. The tour has been organized under the ATMA scheme.

He said during the tour  farmers will also hold an interaction with scientists who will inform the farmers about various agricultural techniques besides getting hands-on training reading the agricultural technology.

CHO urged the farmers to take this opportunity to learn modern techniques so that they can practice the same in their fields to improve their yield.
