BHADERWAH, JUNE 25: Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar, today convened a commemoration of ‘Samvidhan Hatya Divas’, observed nationally on June 25. This day remembers the constitutional assault during the 1975 Emergency.

The meeting was attended by chief guest Gyan Chand and guest of honour Madan Kotwal, along with senior officers from across the sub-district, including representatives from Police, Education, Health, PWD, PDD, PHE, PMGSY and Municipal Committees.

During the meeting, ADC Sunil Kumar outlined plans for public awareness initiatives in schools and colleges that will focus on constitutional values and civic responsibility. The administration also discussed community outreach drives to disseminate informational materials and engage citizens in discussions about the historical context of Emergency-era suppression of democratic rights.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC Sunil Kumar emphasized that ‘Samvidhan Hatya Divas’ serves as a day to reaffirm our collective faith in democracy and reflect on the fragility of civil liberties. He stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance to prevent any future subversion of our constitutional framework and underscored the significance of involving youth in these efforts while educating the public about democratic rights and constitutional safeguards.
