BJP Mahila Morcha organizes free medical camp on Punya Tithi of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee
Jammu, 23 June 2025: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha organized a Free Medical Camp at the party office in Kachi Chawni, Jammu, to mark the Punya Tithi of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee.
J&K BJP President Sat Sharma accompanied by Vice President and MLA Yudhvir Sethi, Secretary and MLA Arvind Gupta, Vice-President and Mahila Morcha Prabhari Anuradha Charak, BJP Secretary Anju Dogra, Mahila Morcha President Sanjita Dogra, spokesperson Rajni Sethi, Jammu District Prabhari Rajeev Charak, District President Rajesh Gupta, and Morcha General Secretaries Neha Mahajan and Reema Padha inaugurated the free medical camp.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma lauded the Mahila Morcha for consistently organizing this noble initiative every year on the occasion of Balidan Diwas. He said that such acts of social service truly embody the values Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee stood for. “Dr. Mookerjee’s sacrifice for the unity and integrity of the nation continues to inspire generations. Building a Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat would be a true tribute to his legacy,” he added.
Yudhvir Sethi recalled the selfless dedication of Dr. Mookerjee, stating that he entered public life not for power but for principles. He appreciated the Mahila Morcha team for their efforts in serving the community through health services.
Arvind Gupta encouraged people to participate in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign by planting trees in the names of their family members, beginning from Balidan Diwas and culminating on Dr. Mookerjee’s birth anniversary.
Sanjita Dogra, in her address, reflected on the life and sacrifice of Dr. Mookerjee, stating that his mysterious death in Srinagar jail in 1953 is a lingering question for the nation. “He was not just a patriot, but also an educationist and a strong advocate of social justice,” she said.
The medical camp was served by a dedicated team of doctors including Dr. Vikrant Sharma (Orthopaedician), Dr. Shalini Sumbria (Physician), Dr. Shefali Anand (Gynaecologist), and Rajesh Sharma (Pharmacist).
Dr. Vikrant Sharma emphasized that providing medical services on such a solemn occasion is a way to carry forward Dr. Mookerjee’s mission of service to the nation. This camp is not just about treatment, it’s about touching lives with compassion and responsibility, he added.
Neha Mahajan and Reema Padha facilitated the smooth and efficient conduct of medical camp.
Earlier, senior BJP leaders and Mahila Morcha members paid floral tributes to Dr. Mookerjee’s portrait at the party office, remembering his unmatched contribution to the nation.
