First DLIC Meeting under Mission YUVA held in Baramulla; 31 cases approved

BARAMULLA, JUNE 14: The first District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) meeting under Mission YUVA was held today in Baramulla under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa.

The meeting marked a major step toward promoting youth entrepreneurship and self-employment in the district.

During the session, 31 cases of aspiring young entrepreneurs were approved for financial assistance and capacity-building support under the Mission YUVA scheme. The selected projects span various sectors, reflecting the diverse potential of youth across Baramulla.

Mission YUVA, an initiative of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, aims to transform youth aspirations into enterprises by offering skill development, funding, mentorship, and market linkages. DC appreciated the enthusiasm of the youth and emphasized timely fund disbursement and proper mentoring support for sustainability.

All DLIC and SBDU members, along with DE&CC Baramulla officers, participated in the meeting. A detailed overview of the application screening process was presented, highlighting the success of mobilization and awareness efforts.

DC also called for hiring a DPR expert to strengthen project evaluation and instructed officials to intensify outreach through registration camps and awareness drives.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to making Mission YUVA a model of youth empowerment in Baramulla.
