World Blood Donor Day celebrated in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JUNE 14: In observance of World Blood Donor Day, Red Cross Society Anantnag and Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, organized a blood donation camp today at Dak Bungalow Khanabal, Anantnag.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from volunteers across the district who came forward to donate blood as a gesture of humanity and solidarity.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Sandeep Singh Bali, appreciated the efforts of the organizers and lauded the spirit of the volunteers. He emphasized the significance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives and strengthening the healthcare system.

Officers and officials from various departments were also present at the camp, showing their support for this noble cause. The initiative underscored the importance of regular blood donation and the role of civil society in ensuring a steady supply of safe blood for medical emergencies.

Every year on June 14, World Blood Donor Day is observed globally to raise awareness about the need for safe blood and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
