Mission YUVA: Entrepreneurship mela held at Udhampur to empower local youth

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 14: To promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth, the District Employment and Counseling Centre, in collaboration with District Administration Udhampur organized a one-day Potential entrepreneurship-cum-awareness mela under Mission YUVA, here today.

The initiative aimed to inform and motivate local youth to explore and avail the self-employment opportunities offered through different government-sponsored entrepreneurship development programs.

At the outset, Assistant Director Employment Priyanka Gupta delivered a detailed briefing on the Mission YUVA, highlighting its objectives, features and the support mechanism available for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The event was attended by DDC Chairperson Lal Chand, Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh and other officers.

A large number of aspiring youth and locals attended the mela reflecting the rising interest in entrepreneurship among the masses.  

Addressing the participants, the DCC chairman and MLAs appreciated the enthusiasm of the youth and underscored the significance of such awareness events. They reiterated that Mission YUVA is a transformative initiative aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial skills, creating meaningful employment opportunities, and fostering self-reliance among the younger generation.

The experts from the stakeholder departments said that the primary aim of the mela was to sensitize youth, aspiring entrepreneurs and stakeholders about the Mission YUVA schemes, including the registration process and key benefits.  

Some entrepreneurs shared their success stories and  highlighted the tangible impact of the government initiatives on the ground, inspiring others to follow the path of self-employment.
