The event was conducted in collaboration with the Forest Department to promote environmental sustainability, legal awareness and active community participation.

The drive was coordinated by Assistant LADCs Sanveer Singh, Sandeep Kumar, Farhat Nabi and Afshana Malik along with the staff of the authority. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic involvement from Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and officials from the Forest Department.

As part of the drive, saplings were planted across the Methalan-Bindraban area to enhance the green cover and underscore the importance of afforestation in preventing climate change and ecological degradation.

In parallel, a cleanliness campaign was conducted, focusing particularly on the collection and responsible disposal of plastic waste, aligning with this year’s call to action against plastic pollution.

The programme emphasized the need for behavioural change at the grassroots level, encouraging individuals to adopt eco-friendly habits, minimize plastic use and take proactive steps in environmental conservation.
