Congress stages strong protest against BJP MLA’s derogatory remarks on Sonia Gandhi Priyanka Gandhi

Demands unconditional apology from Vikram Randhawa

Jammu, June 4: Acting on the directions of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Shri Tariq Hameed Karra, the Congress Party along with Youth Congress activists today staged a strong protest against BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa for his derogatory remarks against senior Congress leaders Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Smt. Priyanka Gandhi.

The Congress leaders and workers assembled at Mishriwala in Jammu North constituency, which falls under District Jammu Rural and burnet the effigy of BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa.

The protest witnessed participation from senior Congress leaders and youth activists, including District Incharge President Jammu Rural Hari Singh Chib, Shri Yogesh Sawhney, Coordinator for District Jammu Rural, Shri Maan Singh Rathore, Incharge Youth Congress Jammu and Kashmir, among others.

Speaking to media persons, Shri Hari Singh Chib strongly condemned the BJP leader’s offensive comments and said that such statements not only reflect the BJP’s anti-women mindset but are also an insult to the democratic values of the nation. “We will not tolerate any attempt to defame our respected leaders. Sonia ji and Priyanka ji have earned the love and respect of the people through decades of dedicated public service,” he said.

The Congress leader further said that the BJP is trying to politicize Operation Sindoor, a sensitive national security issue, for petty political gains. “Turning a counter-terror operation into a tool to attack women leaders and score political points is shameful and dangerous. It reflects the BJP’s desperation and complete lack of moral compass,” he added.

Yogesh Sawhney demanded an unconditional apology from Vikram Randhawa and asked the BJP leadership to take immediate disciplinary action against him. He reiterated his commitment to uphold the dignity of women and maintain the sanctity of political discourse in the country.

Maan Singh Rathore also called upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir to rise above divisive politics and stand united in defense of democratic values and respect for women in public life.

Among those who joined the protest included Balwan Singh, Dr Pardeep, Paroshtam Singh, Rajinder Singh, Janghe, Sunny Jatt, Thoru Ram, Som Nath Sharma, Amit Kumar, Om Parkash, Dheeraj Bhagat, Piyush Bhagat, Harpreet Singh, Kaml Singh, Paroshtam Singh, Om Prakash, Kaka Ram, Madan Singh Chib, Parkash Singh, Tarun Vaid and Gushu Lochan.
