SAMBA, JUNE 4: District Development Commissioner Rajesh Sharma today chaired a pivotal meeting to review the implementation of the “Vibrant Village Programme-II”- an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The meeting strategized measures to achieve full saturation across four critical thematic areas noted by the MHA and aimed at improving the lives of people in border villages.
The DDC directed the designated Nodal Officers of the selected villages to conduct thorough assessment in collaboration with border guarding forces to identify developmental gaps and formulate robust village action plans.
The emphasis was placed on road connectivity, development of telecommunication infrastructure, television access and electrification projects through active participation of concerned line departments.
To ensure swift implementation, all stakeholder departments and nodal officers were mandated to undertake immediate field visits to their allocated villages, assess ground realities, and submit comprehensive village action plans within one week for scrutiny and subsequent submission to higher authorities.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub-Divisional Magistrates and other district officers.
